Pause Breathe Smile has now reached over 100 thousand Kiwi Kids!

I am very pleased to announce that Pause Breathe Smile has now reached over 100 thousand Kiwi Kids! It’s a massive milestone. That’s about 1 in 5 tamariki aged 5 to 12 equipped with mind health skills. It’s exciting and incredible to have made it possible for so many young New Zealanders to learn mindfulness for free.

This success has happened in a little over two years by co-founding the Pause Breathe Smile Charitable Trust, and thanks to the generous funding support of Southern Cross, we have been able to make Pause Breathe Smile free for all primary and intermediate schools.

To reach 100,000 children we have trained over 7,500 educators in schools nationwide. I extend huge gratitude to these teachers for using Pause Breathe Smile to support their classroom’s wellbeing during these challenging past few years.

I suspect this high population reach of a children’s wellbeing programme, in such a short time, during the pandemic, delivered through a brand-new charity and a single sponsor partnership model, is unique in the world. It is heartening to be part of the solution to help change the overall mental health climate of this country.
